Welcome to those who have just subscribed to "Complete."  It seems like each month brings new and exciting opportunities.
 
As many of you know, at the beginning of January I left my full-time position to focus on this business.  It has been a great adventure thus far and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Wisdom from Others 
"I should have listened to you."

If you are anything like me, you hate to utter these words "I should have listened to you."  Do you find yourself relying on your own wisdom before the wisdom of others?  Instead of taking the advice and opinions of others, you keep plugging along to do it your own way.  I find myself doing this all the time.  Where does it get me?  Nowhere, except stressed and frustrated!   
 
This month join me in practicing these actions:
-Taking someone's wisdom or advice
-Humbly accepting when another person is right
-Listening with an open mind to others
-Swallowing your pride
-Try something new
 
Each day there are millions of resources, people, and slices of wisdom set before us but too often our pride gets in the way from accepting these things.  Let your pride go and act on someone else's words of wisdom.  It just might be the answer you were searching for.

Crucial Conversations

When conversations get a little to serious or deep, do you find yourself becoming very quiet or changing the subject?  Are you afraid to start some conversations with friends or family (like a conversation about religion) for fear of starting a debate?  Learn more about breaking down the barriers of crucial conversations.

Yoga/Pilates Pose Breakdown
Plank Pose
 
Pose Breakdown
Begin on your hands and knees.  Lift the knees up into plank.  Place your hands under your shoulders with your arms straight (try to not lock your elbows).  Extend your legs back and flex your feet by pushing towards the wall behind you.  Draw your shoulder blades down and back.  Draw your abdominal muscles in and up.  Your body should be in a straight and extending line.
 
Variations
  • Come onto your knees if you are unable to create a straight line (check out your posture in a mirror--be honest with your body and practice being humble if you need to rest on your knees)
  • Lift on foot off the floor, then switch
  • Lower down to the floor slowly and draw the elbows next to the rib cage (great for building upper body strength)

Strengthens legs, back, abdominals, shoulders, arms, and wrists; Improves circulation and digestion; Energizes the body; Builds core strength

Class Cancellations and New Location
 
There will be no classes from February 26th-March 1st.
 
Starting March 5th, classes at It Figures will be meeting at a new location.  The location is 611 Broadway, 2nd floor, in Wabasha.
